Wirral Coastal Walk 2023
Wirral Coastal Walk 2023
Why take part?
Join like-minded walkers en route from the Floral Pavilion, New Brighton to the Wirral Country Park at Thurstaston whilst enjoying the beautiful scenic coastline of the Wirral Peninsula. The Wirral Schools Concert band will be providing fantastic entertainment at the start of the walk with more great live music and charity stalls to browse at the finish. The total distance is approximately 12.5 miles – with check points at Leasowe Common (4 miles) and, King’s Gap, Hoylake (8 miles). You can choose to finish the walk at the 4- or 8-mile point if you wish.
As well as getting some exercise and enjoying a great day out, the Wirral Coastal Walk provides an opportunity for each walker to support a charity or good cause of his/her choice. The Wirral Coastal Walk has been running over 30 years and has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds in aid of hundreds of different charities. Please either download the Registration and Sponsorship Form or set your phone/tablet up with a giving page if you wish to raise funds for a Charity or good cause. Please also inform the charity or good cause that you are walking in aid of them so that they can support and thank you. Each sponsored walker is responsible for: Getting the form stamped at the finish of the walk to prove completion; Collection of the funds raised and; Paying them to the chosen charity or good cause. Use of a giving page makes the administation easier and in general charities will receive funds more swiftly - a win/win! See the link for some guidance on giving pages.
If you don't wish to raise funds on the day and just walk for fun, please tick the box at bottom right corner of the Registration slip (at the bottom of the form).
Registration takes place between 8:30 and 10:30am; so please start within this time window and participants are expected to complete the walk by 5:00pm.
Pre-paid registration is £5 per adult and £1 per child aged 10 and under. The registration fee is £6 per adult on the day and £1 per child.
Car Parking: Only the usual Wirral Country Park Visitor Centre parking at Thurstaston to be used this year and it is available all day. The Council has agreed not to enforce parking charges on the day of the Walk.
