York was founded in 71 AD by the Romans and they named it Eboracum. However evidence suggests that tribes had lived in its place long before hand. Following on from the Romans was the Anglo Saxons, Vikings, Normans, Medieval Period, Tudors, Georgians, Victorians... right up till now! Not surprising with all of that history York should carry an unlimited amount of ghostly sightings and stories. Shadows of York is suitable for most though it is not advised for children under 7 years of age due to its contents and length of walk.
Private tours also available which is perfect for business trips, school groups, scouts/brownies, and other occasions. Your guide will lead you through York's historic streets and tell you of its dark and ghostly past. Please note there are no actors BUT for anyone who indeed sees a Headless Horseman or is robbed by Dick Turpin then you have probably encountered the real thing and the guide and company is not liable for anyone who suffers from heart conditions, anxiety, over active imagination, demonic possessions or accidentally brings home a ghost. However we can recommend a good Exorcist!
