Maughold and the North
Maughold and the North
The North of the Isle of Man has plenty to offer, we will board the Manx Electric Railway in Douglas to Glen Mona, where we will alight so we can walk down to the picturesque cove of Cornaa. From there we will see one of the most beautiful glens on the Isle of Man, Ballaglass, where you will see evidence and learn of how gigantic forces created this unique landscape as well as the prehistoric history of the Isle of Man. Boarding the Manx Electric Railway at Cornaa Halt, we continue into Ramsey for some lunch. From there, we have a few different options. We can travel up to the Isle of Man Motor Museum, where you can see a truly extraordinary collection of motor vehicles and bikes that would enthrall any enthusiast. Or we can stay in town, visiting the Grove Museum of Victorian Life and Milntown, both of which are fine examples of our heritage and where you can learn about what life was like here for the wealthy in days gone by. Or we can head back out on the tram where we will journey to Bellevue Halt so we can make our way up Maughold Church. Along the way. we can witness the stunning coastal landscape that forms the Raad Ny Foillan, or Way of the Gull, a coastal footpath that snakes its way around the whole of the Isle of Man’s coastline. Following our excursion I will escort you back to your hotel if you wish.
