Chester has been designated a Heritage Port and the site of the Causeway and mills has been an integral element in the history of the port and the city. This walk aims to look at the River Dee Causeway (Weir), the history of the mills and the challenges of restoring the link between the upper and lower Dee for navigation.
This walk is free, but due to limited numbers, booking is essential.
Duration approx. one hour. The walk will end at the site of the millrace at the southern end of the Causeway. The approximate distance of the route is a quarter of a mile.
