The walk (undertaken at a moderate pace) will start from The Cross and walk out to points one mile from the city centre, north, south, east, and west. In doing so, we will experience the scale and topography of Roman Chester and its environs. The walk is intended as a social event rather than a guided walk per se, but there will be opportunity to hear about and discuss key parts of Roman Chester’s wider landscape.
James Dixon, Conservation Officer, archaeologist, and walker will be leading the walk: an eight-mile walk; undertaken in 2.5 to 3 hours, with no steps or steep slopes; not suitable for young children.
