How to Design Your Own History Computer Games - Online
29th June - 2pm - Online
Join game creator and archaeologist, Florence Smith Nicholls, as she explains how to get started on creating your own history-based digital games.
Learn how to make your first digital game inspired by Chester’s heritage! This workshop is open to complete beginners with no programming experience needed. We’ll start with a brief introduction to game design, then move on to a demonstration of Downpour, a free app that lets you make games using photos on your phone. Participants will have time to explore the app for themselves with some prompts based on Chester’s heritage sites. The workshop will wrap up with a reflection on making games inspired by the past and an opportunity to share what we’ve made.
This talk is intended for those aged from 16- 25.
Please note that the talk link will be made available to the attendees prior to the talk. This is a live event and will not be recorded and made available online afterwards.
