The walk will look at the remains of the industrial heritage in the area between the railway and canal Following the building of the canal in the eighteenth century there was a concentration of industries alongside it. Some of the earlier riverside industry migrated across. Some aspects have been regenerated into modern developments. We will look at corn mills, warehouses and the remains of the lead and engineering works. The industry will be discussed in the context of canal and rail transport.
The walk starts and finishes at the Lock Keeper pub and is fully accessible.
